Mike Foley, a former newspaper editor and executive, is the Master Lecturer in the College of Journalism and Communications.
After nearly 30 years with the St. Petersburg Times, he joined the faculty to teach news reporting and writing. He was appointed the first Hugh Cunningham Professor in Journalism Excellence in May 2006 and was honored as UF’s Teacher of the Year for 2006-2007.
He has been a Pulitzer Prize juror and is a past president of the Florida Society of Newspaper Editors. He was named a Distinguished Alumnus of the college in 1994.
