Rick Hirsch has been a journalist in South Florida for 27 years, all of them at The Miami Herald.
As managing editor for multimedia and new projects, Hirsch oversees the news organization’s New Media content.
He covered a variety of local government beats as a reporter and became an editor in 1985. Reporters under his supervision have won the Investigative Reporters and Editors Gold Medal and Pulitzer Prizes for public service (1993) and commentary (1995).
A graduate of the University of Florida, he is vice chair of the College of Journalism and Communications Advisory Council.
