This publication is a joint effort of the Brechner Center for Freedom of Information and the St. Petersburg Times.

The project was coordinated by Sandra F. Chance, director of the Brechner Center for Freedom of Information. The text was revised and updated by Chance; Charles Davis, a former Brechner Center Ph.D. research fellow and now associate professor at University of Missouri; and, R. Michael Hoefges, a former Brechner Center Ph.D. research fellow and now assistant professor at Trinity University. The text was also edited by Bill F. Chamberlin, founding director of the Brechner Center for Freedom of Information.

Kelley Barber, graphic designer in the University of Florida’s Office of Instructional Resources, designed and produced the art. Kris Herzog, assistant professor at UF consulted on the graphic design. Mary Gallant, the Brechner Center’s former administrative assistant, and Tony Fargo, a former Brechner Center Ph.D. research fellow and now assistant professor at University of Rhode Island, helped proofread.
